Yeah, about the test - the test will measure whether you are an informed, engaged, and productive citizen of the world and it will take place in schools and bars and hospitals and dorm rooms and in places of worship.

You will be tested on first dates, in job interviews, while watching football, and while scrolling through your twitter feed. The test will judge your ability to think about things other than celebrity marriages, whether you’ll be easily persuaded by empty political rhetoric, and whether you’ll be able to place your life and your community in a broader context.

The test will last your entire life and it will be comprised of the millions of decisions that, when taken together, make your life yours, and everything - everything - will be on it

The good times and the bad times both will pass. It will pass. It will get easier. But the fact that it will get easier does not mean that it doesn’t hurt now. And when people try to minimize your pain they are doing you a disservice. And when you try to minimize your own pain you’re doing yourself a disservice. Don’t do that. The truth is that it hurts because it’s real. It hurts because it mattered. And that’s an important thing to acknowledge to yourself. But that doesn’t mean that it won’t end, that it won’t get better. Because it will. — John Green (via avid)

Don’t Forget To Be Awesome

So today I was on my way to university and as I was pacing in circles at the bus stop near my house… I realised I had trodden on a strange assortment of twigs. Only the ‘D’ was misshapen so I realised what it was. After letting out a little (big) squeal I put it back together and took some pictures (damn the first one gets cut off, click it!). I felt like I had been communicated some secret code belonging to a secret society of awesome.

BUT SERIOUSLY THERE’S A NERDFIGHTER WHO LIVES NEAR ME!
